Air travel

The local airport for the Research Triangle is Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU).

Conference hotel

The conference hotel is the Hilton Garden Inn in Durham, which is within walking distance of the campus of Duke University where the conference activities will take place.  You can download a map showing where the conference venues on Duke’s East Campus are located with respect to the hotel at this link: CUWiP_Duke_BuildingMap2.

All undergraduates (other than local residents) who are accepted to attend the conference will be allocated a room in the conference hotel.  Other attendees, who are responsible for their own accommodations, can find lodging at the Millennium Hotel, the Hilton Durham, the Quality Inn and Suites, or the Brookwood Inn.

 


Driving directions

Durham is located in central North Carolina at the intersection of interstate highways I-85 and I-40.  A map of the Duke campus can be found here.  Information about driving to White Lecture Hall from nearby locations can be found here.  (Note that this page gives driving information for the performance venue Baldwin Auditorium, which is located very close to White Lecture Hall).  For parking information, please ignore what you see at that link and instead consult the information below.

For parking before 5 pm on Friday:

Pplease consult this website for visitor parking information on Duke campus: http://parking.duke.edu/parking/visitor_parking/index.php   Smith Warehouse is closest to Duke East Campus: http://maps.duke.edu/map/?id=21&mrkId=5054#!m/4996   The cost is $2/hour and $12/day. This is a reimbursable expense for conference attendees who are being reimbursed for travel; please keep receipts.

After 5 pm Friday and on the weekends, there are some parking spaces available for no charge in ungated lots near the Bivins building, off Markham avenue (http://maps.duke.edu/map/?id=21#!s/key=bivins?m/41760) and near the Pegram building (http://maps.duke.edu/map/?id=21#!s/key=pegram?m/41762) There is also some street parking in the neighborhood, within a 10-15 minute walk.
